Dr. Annie Gervais was born and raised in a small town in the heart of Québec. At 16 years of age, she knew that she would pursue chiropractic as a career. Having experienced it as a patient, she felt very strongly about its philosophy and lifestyle. She enrolled in a Bachelor of science at McMaster University before moving on to Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) for chiropractic studies. Dr. Annie Gervais graduated with clinical honours in 1996. She started her career as a chiropractor doing locum work for a clinic in northern Ontario, and then opened her own practice with Dr. Shawn Bulger, D.C. in Renfrew in 1997.
Dr. Annie Gervais proudly says that she still absolutely loves being a chiropractor!

Shawn_200w_1Dr. Shawn Bulger, chiropractor, owner
Dr. Shawn Bulger was born in Hamilton, Ontario, and grew-up in the small northern town of Cochrane. He attended Queen’s University and received his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences in 1991. In 1995, he graduated with a four year Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College with academic and clinical honours.In 1997, Dr. Shawn Bulger opened his practice in Renfrew, Ontario, in partnership with Dr. Annie Gervais, D.C. He is a member of the Ontario Chiropractic Association, Canadian Chiropractic Association, College of Chiropractors of Ontario, Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, and has been an active member of the Renfrew Rotary Club since 2000.

Dr. Holly O’Neill, chiropractor, associate
Holly attended Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and will be completing a MSc in the Clinical Management of Pain through the University of Edinburgh. Holly also completed a joint honours degree in Biology and Humanities at Carleton University. Holly has a special interest in chronic pain, rehab and exercise. She is enthusiastic about research and collaborative healthcare. Holly has been a yoga teacher for seven years and is passionate about helping people meet the Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines. In addition, Holly is an advocate for evidence informed healthcare. Holly grew up in Renfrew and is excited to practice in her hometown. On the weekends you’ll catch her out for walks with her dogs Larry and Luna.
Dr. Sage Melville, chiropractor, associate
Dr. Sage Melville grew up in Renfrew, attending Renfrew Collegiate Institute (RCI) where she was heavily involved in the athletic community. She graduated with honours and was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. After RCI, Dr. Melville went on to pursue a degree in Kinesiology at Queen’s University where she was a recipient of the Wasmund Family Memorial Scholarship.
After three years at Queen’s, Dr. Melville knew her passion was to help others and thus went on to pursue a career in Chiropractic. She had the opportunity of being supervised by clinicians in both Rexdale and Bowmanville where she worked with a diverse group of patients, including those dealing with chronic pain. In January of this year, she was able to return to Renfrew to complete her education under the supervision of Dr. Annie Gervais and Dr. Shawn Bulger. Dr. Melville completed her Doctor of Chiropractic degree with Summa Cum Laude at CMCC this past June and successfully completed the Canadian chiropractic board examinations. She is passionate about helping individuals manage various types of pain and injury using a combination of rehab, exercise, education, and manual therapy. She is also a strong believer of lifelong learning and looks forward to completing further certifications and courses to improve patient care throughout her career. Dr. Melville is delighted to be returning to Renfrew Family Chiropractic and is looking forward to helping people in the community.
Mrs Melissa MacLeod, registered massage therapist
Melissa was born and raised in Woodstock until her family moved to a dairy farm near Cobden in 2003. Growing up, Melissa was very active in the farming community. She was in 4-H for 11 years and made it to the Royal Winter Fair many times. She graduated from Sir Sanford Fleming in Peterborough in 2011, and worked as a massage therapist in a physiotherapy clinic for several years. Melissa joined Renfrew Family Chiropractic in September 2017 and is very happy working with her new team. She enjoys working with other health care providers to improve their mutual patients’ health. She is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and of the Registered Massage Therapy Association of Ontario (RMTAO). Melissa loves the career path she has chosen and enjoys working with clients to improve their health. Our clinic has the capacity to direct bill for her massage therapy services for the following: veterans affairs department, WSIB, and motor vehicle insurance as well as most clients’ benefits plans. She incorporates various fascial techniques, therapeutic cupping, and deep tissue work in her clients’ treatments. Although she offers registered relaxation massages, she excels at therapeutic massage therapy. Aside from her love for massage therapy, Melissa continues to help on her parents’ farm. She loves being outdoors with animals. Melissa plays a variety of sports all year-round, including hockey and ball, and practices yoga regularly to keep fit.
Mrs Jane Newberry, office manager
Jane was born and raised in Renfrew, Ontario.  She graduated with a Medical Office Administration Diploma from St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario.  Shortly after graduating she moved back to the area and has worked as a Medical Office Manager for the past 22 years.You may recognize Jane’s familiar face as she welcomes you to the clinic.  She will assist you with your office needs such as booking appointments, billing and answering questions you may have.  She will  make you feel at home with her friendly, compassionate manner and will try her best to make sure you leave your appointment with a positive experience. When Jane is not at the office you will most likely find her spending time outdoors with family and friends. She enjoys activities such as boating, downhill skiing, skating, snowmobiling and cheering on her son’s local hockey team.
Mrs Jennifer Freymond, full-time receptionist
Jennifer was born and raised in the town of Cambridge, ON. She attended McMaster University and received her Honours of Kinesiology in 2002. Since graduating Jennifer has had a wide variety of work experience in both physiotherapy and chiropractic clinics and is a registered member of the College of Kinesiology and member of the Ontario Kinesiology Association. She has also had the role of Office
Manager in an insurance office and accounting practice in Bancroft. Jennifer moved with her husband and two sons to Renfrew in November 2018. Her family loves their new community! Jennifer looks forward to getting to know the patients of Renfrew Family Chiropractic and is thankful to be part of an amazing team!
Wendy NareznyMrs. Wendy Narezny, part-time receptionist
Wendy has been a part of our team since 2012. She brings attention to detail and enthusiasm to our clinic. In her spare time, Wendy enjoys Zumba, horseback riding, travelling with her husband, and spending family time with her grown children and grandchild.
Miss Alexia Bulger, part time receptionist
Many of our patients have seen Alexia grow up over the years. She started helping with filing and laundry at a young age, and has been working as a part time receptionist since 2018. While she has several passions including music, science, and skiing, she is pursuing a career in the health care field. Alexia is happy to be a part of the professional team here at Renfrew Family Chiropractic, not just “the family”, and enjoys interacting with our patients in that capacity.
Miss Natasha Bulger, part time receptionist
Natasha has been officially working as a part-time receptionist since 2020, but she has always enjoyed helping out at the clinic since she was quite young. She has several passions such as music, skiing, and the outdoors. She is pursuing a career in the forensic science & psychology field at Trent university, starting September 2023. Natasha enjoys chatting with patients and connecting with people in the community.

Kathy Dagg
Mrs. Kathy Dagg, casual/part time receptionist

In 1997, Kathy joined the practice after a customer service career with Bell Canada. She received the Ontario Chiropractic Association Certification of Excellence in Programme Management Procedures. Kathy manages the office, efficiently handles all billing, ensures your comfort during your visits and can help with your MVA, WSIB, and Extended Health Care billing. She is an active community volunteer and fundraiser. Kathy co-founded the Really Cool Initiatives Theatre Group and has been Producer/Director for six successful productions. In 2013, Kathy lead the drive to revitalize LAFT Players and bring them into the Really Cool family. She works diligently to ensure that local amateur theatre will thrive in our community and is proud that Really Cool Initiatives has been able to support local health care charities since 2001.
