Dr. Annie Gervais

Annie_200h_2Dr. Annie Gervais was born and raised in a small town in the heart of Québec. At 16 years of age, she knew that she would pursue chiropractic as a career. Having experienced it as a patient, she felt very strongly about its philosophy and lifestyle. She enrolled in a Bachelor of Science at McMaster University before moving on to Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) for chiropractic studies. Dr. Annie Gervais graduated with clinical honours in 1996. She started her career as a chiropractor doing locum work for a clinic in northern Ontario, and then opened her own practice with Dr. Shawn Bulger D.C. in Renfrew in 1997. Dr. Annie Gervais proudly says that she still absolutely loves being a chiropractor!

She holds memberships in several professional organizations, notably the Ontario Chiropractic Association, Canadian Chiropractic Association, Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, and College of Chiropractors of Ontario. She is also a “Fellow of International Pediatric Association”, having obtained her chiropractic pediatric certification after graduation. She is especially driven to help enhance the health of children and expectant mothers, and quickly became “Dr. Annie” to her little patients.

Dr. Annie Gervais is now certified in Active Release Technique (ART) for upper and  lower extremities. It has been an invaluable tool to add to her repertoire of chiropractic techniques, and results have been very positive.

She is an active individual, who enjoys the outdoors and various forms of dancing, swimming, martial arts, and skiing. Dr. Annie Gervais has been doing volunteer work in the community ever since she moved to the area. For many years, she helped with the local wrestling club, was heavily involved in the National Women’s Hockey Championships held in Renfrew & Arnprior, was a member of the Rotary Club, and was an active volunteer at a local elementary school for many years. Over the years, her volunteer work with sports team as a chiropractor has taken her to provincial and national championships. She holds a Citizenship Award from the Town of Renfrew in recognition of her volunteer work.

She believes in a healthy balance of work and play. Spending time with her family and friends is definitely a priority. For her own peace of mind and overall flexibility, Dr. Annie Gervais has been practicing yoga for several years now. She loves the combination of chiropractic and yoga, since they complement each other very well. She enjoys being a yoga instructor, and has been teaching at the Heart Song studio in Renfrew since 2014.
